The Rogers Royals lost to Totino-Grace 6-1 in Section 5AAA on Friday at Coon Rapids. Kyle Ellis pitched for the Royals (9-10 overall, 1-1 in the playoffs). Rogers will meet Centennial on Monday at the same site, Winter Crest Park.

In earlier action, Adam Nauth tossed a three-hitter as the Rogers Royals beat the Osseo Orioles 3-2 in a play-in game to open Section 5AAA play on Thursday.

The No. 6 seeded Royals (9-9) will meet No. 3 Totino-Grace on Friday at 3:30 p.m. as the tournament continues at host site Winter Crest Park in Coon Rapids.

Nauth, junior right-hander, struck out four and walked three.

Charlie Hohenstein pitched the distance for No. 11 Osseo, giving up seven hits.

Caleb Reese doubled and scored on Scott Neubauer’s single for Rogers, while the other runs scored on a bases-loaded wild pitch and Ryan Gelle’s sacrifice fly. Bryanlee Santiago-Martinez was 2-for-3.
