MAY 24 — There will be a Silent Auction to raise funds for Minnesota-Operation Military Kids Friday, May 24, from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post, 260 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Osseo. Bidders need not be present to win. There will also be a dinner — entree’ choices will be steak, shrimp, walleye ($10 each) or a combination of steak and shrimp ($12). Each dinner will include an entree’, a baked potato, coleslaw and Texas Toast. The dinners will be served from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

MAY 28 — The Maple Grove Community Organization is in the final stages of planning the Maple Groves Days Festival scheduled for July 11 to 14. Join the group for its monthly meeting held the fourth Tuesday of each month, this month May 28. All meetings are at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road, at 7 p.m. There is no previous experience required to help plan the festival, just the desire to present Maple Grove residents with a festival that people of all ages can enjoy. There are many committees to help with or volunteer to help during the festival. There are different days available to volunteer as well as many jobs and shifts. Free electronics recycling
JUNE 1 — Boy Scout Troop 84 will be hosting a free electronics recycling event Saturday, June 1, as part of a fundraising event for their summer camps. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walmart, 9451 Dunkirk Lane N. in Maple Grove. This event is open to all and is not restricted to residents of Maple Grove. All electronics are welcome, including: computers, printers, cell phones, tablets, keyboards, mice, cords, VCRS, DVD players, stereo equipment, game consoles, computer parts, batteries, TVs and monitors.
