Corcoran Police reported a DWI arrest Friday, May 17 at 11:49 p.m. at 90XX Shannon Lane. Arrested was John Robert Hoffman, 29, of Mankato, MN for Gross Misd Refusal.

Arrests

Corcoran Police reported a DAS arrest Saturday, May 18 at 9:39 p.m. at County Rd. 10 and Maple Hill Rd. Arrested was Gricelda Alvardo, 33, of New Hope for driving after suspension of her driver’s license, no driver’s license in possession and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Corcoran Police reported a DAR arrest Sunday, May 19 at 1:02 a.m. at 78XX Maple Hill Rd. Arrested was Southone Billy Khamvongsa, 22, of Corcoran for driving after revocation of his driver’s license.

Property damage 

The department reported a property damage auto crash Monday, May 13 at 7:29 a.m. in the area of Highway 55 and County Rd. 19. Both vehicles were eastbound on Highway 55. Vehicle #1 stated their brakes were defective and struck the rear of Vehicle #2, which in turn, struck the rear of Vehicle #3. No injuries were reported.

The department reported a property damage auto crash Tuesday, May 14 at 9:49 a.m. in the area of Trail Haven Rd. and Circle La. The Public Works department contacted the Police department to advise that a vehicle had slid into the ditch and bent a street sign. The Public Works department straightened out the sign. The Officer contacted the resident and spoke to them about the situation. The resident advised that there were city tractors in the roadway and when they went to the right to get by the tractors, their vehicle slid in the ditch and struck the sign. The Officer took insurance information from the resident. The Public Works department advised the sign can be repaired.

The department reported a personal injury auto crash Tuesday, May 14 at 4:49 p.m. in the area of County Rd. 30 and County Rd. 116. Vehicle #1 was westbound on County Rd. 30, slowing/ stopped in the northbound turn lane to go north on County Rd. 116. Vehicle #1 started to proceed into traffic and then stopped for an oncoming vehicle. Vehicle #2 struck vehicle #1. The driver of vehicle #1 complained of a sore neck/head and advised they would drive themselves to the hospital after refusing medical attention at the scene.

The department reported a property damage incident Friday, May 17 at 3:25 p.m. in the area of 217XX County Rd. 30. The reporting party stated they wanted to report a possible damage to property. They stated that their step-grandfather has passed away recently and the step-grandfather’s roommate had lost their keys and had to break a window to gain access inside the residence. The Officer advised the reporting party that since the roommate is a renter of the property, they have renter rights. The Officer documented the report as information only at this time.

Medicals

The department responded to a medical emergency Wednesday, May 15 at 9:48 p.m. in the 62XX block of Hunter Rd. A 54 year old female was having chest pains. The patient was transported to the hospital by North Ambulance.

The department responded to a medical emergency Friday, May 17 at 6:48 a.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. A 77 year old male was unconscious and not breathing. CPR and medical attention were performed, but were unsuccessful.

Miscellaneous

The department responded to a report of harassment on Monday, May 13 at 1:01 p.m. in the 211XX block of County Rd. 30. The reporting party stated there was a company called Cash America that was calling them demanding they pay $520 that they owe. The reporting party stated they do not owe this money and had asked the company to send them a bill in the mail so they could see what they were paying for. The caller refused and told them they needed to pay or they would go to jail. The Officer called the company and found that it was a false misrepresentation call and that as soon as the Officer identified himself, the caller hung up.

The department responded to a report of harassment on Tuesday, May 14 at 8:12 a.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party stated their neighbor is asking for rides to the liquor store. The reporting party stated the neighbor is usually intoxicated and advised they would not give them a ride anywhere. The Officer advised the neighbor of the complaint.

The department responded to a report of suspicious activity on Tuesday, May 14 at 9:16 a.m. in the 210XX block of Oakdale Dr. The reporting party stated there was a male and a vehicle on the roadway and the homeowner was not at home. Officers spoke with the male and found they were painters waiting for another employee to arrive to begin work on the residence. Officer advised the reporting party.

The department responded to a report of a phone call regarding a civil issue on Friday, May 17 at 10:24 a.m. in the 216XX block of Nystrom La. The reporting party stated they had a person stay with them until they found out the person was having a known drug-dealer pick them up at the residence. The person now wants their property back and the reporting party had disposed of all the property. Officers advised the reporting party to contact 911 if the person shows up and refuses to leave the residence.

The department responded to a report of a civil issue on Saturday, May 18 at 3:52 p.m. in the 217XX block of County Rd. 30. The reporting party stated their landlord’s family wants to come to the property to take photos and retrieve financial records of the landlord’s. The reporting party stated that they would not let the family in the house without a court order. The Officer contacted the family to advise them of the situation. The family will consult with an attorney on the next steps to proceed with.
