Champlin Police graduates another 20 from annual Citizen’s Academy

The Champlin Police Department recently graduated 20 citizens from its annual Citizen’s Academy. This was a free 7 week course that allowed citizens an opportunity to experience what it is like to be a police officer.

Numerous guest speakers offered their expertise in many different aspects of law enforcement. Some of the topics covered were, the Hennepin County Medical Examiners Office, K-9 Demonstration, CPR Training, Drug Task Force, DWI, “Shoot no Shoot” Simunition Scenarios, Criminal Investigations, as well as, a tour of the Champlin Police Department and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s 911 Dispatch Center. The course was held at the Champlin Police Department on Thursday nights and offered participants a clearer understanding of law enforcement.
