Maple Grove boys’ golfers enjoy conference success

The Maple Grove boys’ golf recently completed a three day run of finishing first, tied for first, and first at two conference matches, and at a 28-team invitational tournament.

Senior captains Jake Herdine and Jackson Lanou shot one over par scores of 73s, while junior Nick Adams and sophomore Parker Hill supported the team with scores in the 70s to secure a first place finish (tied with Rogers) at the Bunker Hills Invitational May 7.

The same four players combined for a school record team score of 297 on May 8 at Logger’s Trail in Stillwater. Lanou was the conference medalist, with a one-under round of 71, while Herdine had an excellent 74, Adams and Hill both shot 76s at the conference event.

Maple Grove currently occupies first place in the NW Suburban Conference for boy’s golf. Pierce Lanou, freshman Sam Franklin, Connor Wilcox, and Ben Nelson have all contributed toward Crimson success this spring.

One conference event remains, at Bunker Hills May 23.
