West Hennepin Public Safety

The following incidents were reported by West Hennepin Public Safety between April 14 and April 20.

Independence  

On April 16, at 5:09 p.m. there was a report that an owl struck a window and was injured on the 4900 block of Perkinsville Road. The owl was taken to the Raptor Center.

On April 16, at 5:59 p.m. there was a report of a CO alarm in the basement utility room on the 6100 block of Wood Hill Lane. Maple Plain Fire arrived and found no reading for CO. The CO alarm was cleaned and reset and still began to signal CO detection. Homeowner will replace the alarm.

On April 20, at 7:39 p.m. Theresa Lee Hill, 37, from Delano drove off the road, striking a speed limit sign and was stuck in the ditch on the 6200 block of Highway 12. Hill was arrested for fourth degree DWI, AC .26.

Maple Plain

On April 15, at 8:30 p.m. there was a report of a large cloud of smoke crossing the Highway from the 1650 block of Marsh Avenue. Homeowner was burning plastic and garbage. Brandon Criner, 27 from Maple Plain issued citation for illegal burn, burning prohibited materials.

On April 20, at 9:32 a.m. a resident reported someone tried to issue an electronic check, over $4,000 to Best Buy on her account on the 5200 block Bryantwood Drive. The electronic check did not go through as she did not have that much money in her account and she was charged a NSF fee from her bank. Victim’s bank closed all her accounts and refunded the money.
