West Hennepin Public Safety

The following incidents were reported by West Hennepin Public Safety between April 1 and April 13.

Independence  

On April 9, at 3:43 p.m. there was a report that a shed was broken into and a generator stolen on the 7100 block of Pioneer Creek Road. The generator is a Mitsubishi model MGE 6700. Case under investigation

On April 10, at 6:39 p.m. there was a report of a 30-year-old female from Minneapolis, lit her cigarette out in the wind, the red cherry blew off and a spark went into her eye on the 3600 block of Ihduhapi Trail. She and staff flushed her eye in the eye wash station but it still hurt. She was transported to the hospital.

On April 11, at 6:15 a.m. there was a report of a received a call of a horse on the road on the 440 block of County Road 92N.  Officer located the horse outside of a fence on the west side of County Road 92 and contacted the owner who put the horse back in the pasture.

On April 11, at 2:12 p.m. there was a report of snow plow damage to a mailbox on the 5300 block of Pagenkopf. City of Independence advised they will replace and fix the mailbox.

On April 12, at 10:51 p.m. there was a report that a 46-year-old motorist from Watertown was eastbound on County Road 6 when a deer ran out in front of her vehicle at County Road 6/County Road 110. She attempted to avoid a crash but hit the deer with the right front corner of her truck and the deer ran off into the woods. Minor damage to the truck on the right front side.

On April 13, at 12:10 p.m. there was report of a missing person from the Vinland Center that was court ordered to be there at 3675 Ihduhapi Trail. A 48-year-old female left on foot from Vinland and was located in Loretto, gave the officer a false name and date of birth. Her identity was confirmed by a Vinland employee. Female arrested for false information to a police officer and was booked into Hennepin County Jail.

Maple Plain

On April 9, at 10:57 a.m. the Bank of Maple Plain reported theft in progress. A person was trying to cash a check that was believed to have been stolen. A 25-year-old male from Minneapolis and a 23-year-old female from St. Bonifacius were arrested. Both were burglary suspects in the city of Orono. Case under investigation.

On April 11, at 11:40 a.m. there was a report that someone was illegally dumping garbage in the apartment dumpsters at Maple Terrace. The illegal dumping has happened several times. Resident observed a female with dark hair and a pony tail dump the garbage. The resident wrote down the license plate of the vehicle. Case under investigation.

On April 13, at 9:24 p.m. there was a report of suspicious activity at a residence on the 4800 block of Drake Street. Officer found someone had just plowed the driveway. The house was all secure no problems found.
