Mary Kiffmeyer, whose area includes St. Michael and Albertville, testify to the Senate Transportation Committee on behalf of expanding Interstate 94 between Rogers and Monticello. The Transportation Committee discussed and amended its Omnibus Transportation Finance Bill to include base-level funding for Metro Transit operations and highway funding. Kiffmeyer recently had two bills that in the Transportation Committee (SF 426 and SF 1201) that would dedicate bonding funds to expanding Interstate 94 between Rogers and Monticello. Both bills have been laid over for possible inclusion in the Senate bonding bill. Supporters seek the expansion to improve freight and passenger car mobility and reduce crash levels.
