The St. Michael-Albertville golf teams are still waiting to hit the links. With the extra free time, the Knights are promoting this year’s fundraiser – the PGA Golf Discount Card.

Both the boys’ and girls’ golf teams are promoting the card that is good at over 175 golf courses statewide, as well as over 70 local golf courses. It allows you to buy one round of 18-holes and get the second round free. It can be used up to four times at each single golf course.

The cost of the card is $35 and can be purchased by contacting STMA girls’ golf coach Mitch Harmoning either by email at or by phone at 612-730-2945.

For each card sold, the golf team gets $15 that Harmoning said will be used towards expenses such as offsetting costs, overnight trips and team bags.

“It’s just a great deal,” Harmoning said. “If you use it twice, it saves you $35. I think it’s a must for those that like to play multiple courses. Most people that buy one, will get one each year.”

The Knights are looking forward to the day they can officially start golfing. Due to Monday’s snowstorm, their first scheduled makeup meet for Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Monticello was still up in the air at deadline. If weather permits, their next meet will be this Thursday at Buffalo.
