They may not be the most experienced volunteers involved that day, but their “hearts” are in the right place and they’re hoping they are not alone. Here’s a message written by Rockford Junior Girl Scout Sydney Nute of Troop 13725:

“For Thousand Hearts Crow River Serve Day, our Rockford Girl Scout Troop is hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross in front of the Buffie Chiropractic Clinic in Downtown Rockford Sunday, May 5. We are still in need of blood donors. When we met with a lady from the Red Cross, she said that when you give blood, you are saving many lives – baby’s lives, mother’s lives, victim’s lives. You only need to put aside 45 to 60 minutes of your day. Please help us reach our goal. The need is constant, the gratification instant.”
