Champlin will offer an annual appliance pick-up event Monday, May 6 beginning at 7 a.m. To participate in the annual curbside collection of used appliances, you must purchase a sticker from the City for $8 per appliance prior to Tuesday, April 30. The purchased sticker must be placed on your appliance and set out by the curb before 7:00 a.m. on May 6.
City Hall is located at 11955 Champlin Drive and is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• Acceptable Items include: Air conditioners, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, dryers, freezers, furnaces, garbage disposals, heat pumps, humidifiers, microwaves, refrigerators, stoves, trash compactors, washers and water heaters.
Only if you have a refrigerator or freezer that has the old style latch on the outside, do you need to remove the door.
• Unacceptable Items & Conditions: Water softeners.
Appliances must be in a non-compacted condition. They must also not contain food, debris, or other foreign material. The recycler retains the right to refuse any appliances deemed to be in such a compacted or destroyed condition which prevents the proper removal of hazardous wastes and/or refrigerants according to law.
Only items with a sticker will be accepted for pick-up.
