Forty-three from CPHS recognized by NWSC

The winter season is officially over, and the accolades are starting to come in for the athletes that participated in the middle sports season at Champlin Park High School.

The Northwest Suburban Conference recognized 43 different student athletes from Champlin Park with either all conference or all conference honorable mention honors for what they did on their respective playing fields this past season.

The list included seven members of the boys hockey team that played within a game of the state tournament, and another eight players from the girls hockey team after one of the best seasons that program has enjoyed.

It also included state gymnastics participant Taylor Guckeen, state alpine ski competitors Josh Phleger and Anson Kuznik, and state swim meet qualifier Colin Hortman.

Here is a complete list of all those that were recognized by the NWSC for this past winter:


Boys hockey: Calvin Spencer, Luke Dalman and Bryce Plunkett.

Girls hockey: Hailey Adair, Leah Elledge and Courtney Potter.

Boys basketball: Brennan Witt, Ian Smith and JT Gibson.

Girls basketball: Alexis Alexander, Kalli Zimmermann and Ali Zopfi.

Gymnastics: Taylor Guckeen, Lexi Marquard, Somer Soli and Cassidy Soli.

Boys swimming and diving: Colin Hortman, Todd Croaston and Reid Schuerman.

Alpine skiing: Lisa Dalman, Tara Dalman, Allison Phleger, Anthony Kuznik, Anson Kuznik and Josh Phleger.

Nordic skiing: Izaak Peterson and Shannon Wald.

All Conference Honorable Mention

Boys hockey: Tyler Nelson, Grant Schuenke, Jordan Baker and Scott Lessard.

Girls hockey: Kaleigh Martinson, Maggie Cragg, Briana Johnson, Marjorie McNamara and Sydney Peluf.

Boys basketball: Zach Johnson and Trevor Garrison

Gymnastics: Casey Rieschl

Boys swimming and diving: Ben McBroom, Josh Anderson, Ryan Rodeback and Christian Magalis.
