Delano math team places at State

The Delano math team participated in the Minnesota State High School Math League State Tournament at South. St. Paul High School on Monday, March 11. The Tigers had their highest finish ever placing seventh out of 38 teams. Delano was the smallest public school in the top 20.  Also, for the first time ever, the Tigers had three mathletes qualify for the individual portion of the state meet: Kristin Hedtke, James Redinger and Zach Muckenhirn. The ranking is based on season totals plus and state tournament performance.

In the main event, James Redinger led Delano with 12 points followed by Kristin Hedtke and Zach Muckenhirn with 10 each. T.J. Minor and Michael Tulkki earned 7 points apiece, and Adam Vieau scored 6 points. Michael Redinger totaled 5 points as Nathaniel Hood and Ryder Shallbetter rounded out the scoring with 4 points each.
