3 MGSH students are National Merit finalists

Maple Grove Senior High School students Sean McKenna, Martha Waterfield and Aniket Ketkar are all National Merit Scholarship Program finalists for 2013.

McKenna will seek a civil engineering degree at either MIT, University of Texas- Austin or the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities.

Waterfield plans to pursue a degree in psychology at Carleton College.

Ketkar is planning to major in biomedical engineering at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities.

Of the 1.5 million entrants, some 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQT Selection Index scores (critical reading + mathematics + writing skills scores) qualify for recognition in the National Merit Scholarship Program. In September, these high scorers are notified through their schools that they have qualified as either a commended student or semifinalist.
