The following public safety summary information from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Unit is provided to residents as a public service. These highlights from Feb. 25 through March 3, 2013, do not reflect all incidents handled or investigated by the HCSO during this time period.
In addition to the law enforcement services it provides throughout the county, the HCSO provides primary patrol services for the communities of Hassan Township, Greenfield, Medicine Lake and Fort Snelling, as well as the Hennepin County portions of Hanover and Rockford.
On Feb. 27, deputies responded to an address on the 8000 block of Hwy. 55 for a disturbance call. Deputies spoke with the resident and advised. No other action was needed.
On Feb. 20, the liaison deputy at the Rockford Middle School on the 6000 block of Ash Street was informed by a staff member that they thought a 13-year-old male student was under the influence of something. After further investigation the deputy located marijuana and will contact the males father and forward the information to Wright County Sheriff’s Office for further follow-up and formal charging.
On Feb. 25, deputies pulled a vehicle over in the area of Commerce Blvd. and 134th Ave. N., recognizing the driver as the registered owner, who was driving after cancelation inimical to public safety. The 48-year-old male driver was arrested, booked into the Hennepin County Public Safety Facility where he was released pending formal complaint. The reports were forwarded to the city attorney for formal charging.
On March 1, deputies responded to an address on the 6300 block of 78th Lane N. for a medical. A 60-year-old female was not feeling well. North ambulance arrived and transported her to Allina Hospital in Buffalo.
On March 2, deputies responded to a business on the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 for a theft report. The clerk reports someone filled up their vehicle with gas and left without paying. Loss is estimated at $72.58. The employee was able to get the license plate of the vehicle. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating the incident.
On March 2, deputies responded to an address on the 8600 block of Grace Lane for a medical. An 8-year-old male was choking. The child was standing and breathing when deputies arrived. North ambulance arrived and transported him to Maple Grove Hospital.
During the week of Feb. 25 to March 3, 2013, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies also issued or provided: 12 citations, one alarm and one property damage accident.
