There are also two fundraising events coming up in March and April. Empty Bowls is occurring in Maple Grove and Rogers this year. The event invites all members of the community to participate in a meal of soup and bread. Donations are accepted and guests are given the bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money donated is used to help families in the community with food from CROSS, the local food shelf.

The Maple Grove Community Center will host the Eighth Annual Empty Bowls event Thursday, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entertainment is provided by local musicians and bowls are created by local artists, community members and students. A light meal will be served.
