RogPoliceBadgeEditor’s Note: The following represents some, but not nearly all, of the calls reported by Rogers Police from Monday, Feb. 11, through Monday, Feb. 18.

Monday, Feb. 11

Brian Douglas Pederson, 20, was cited for expired registration at South Diamond Lake Road and Rogers Drive.

Property maintenance employee at 19875 South Diamond Lake Rd. witnessed a suspicious male holding a pipe wrench on the south end of the building near the standoff valve. When he parked his vehicle to investigate the male, the male suspect quickly got into a silver Buick LaSabre and left. Missing are four brass caps off the standoff valve. Officer has requested loss information from the property manager. The employee did obtain the MN LIC plate which matched the described vehicle. An attempt to locate the vehicle was broadcast to metro LE agencies. Currently this is an open investigation.

Party at 13550 Commerce Blvd. reports the theft of a Troy Bilt Snow Blower from the maintenance shed. Occurred sometime between December and Feb. 10.

Maple Grove Police Department asked for assistance in locating suspects in a theft from Walmart. Officer checked area and did not locate the suspects. Suspects were involved in numerous past thefts and possessed theft tools.

Found brown and black cat in Kohl’s parking lot. Cat has no tags/no collar, but is friendly. Cat in community service officer custody, will transport to Monticello Animal Control.

Wednesday, Feb. 13

Rogers Officers were dispatched to the Rogers High School to assist with a student who was having mental issues and had hurt his hand by punching a wall. The student was transported to the hospital by ambulance for evaluation.

Mary Eileen Doppler, 52, was cited for expired registration tabs at Commerce Boulevard.

A theft of computer from a vehicle was reported near the 22400 block of 130th Avenue.

Officers responded to a hit and run property damage crash at the intersection of 101/94.  A witness followed the vehicle into Rogers and was able to relay a license plate to Dispatch.  The license plate matched the description of the vehicle the witness gave. Officers checked the area the vehicle was last reported to be seen but were unable to locate it.  Officers were not able to locate the vehicle that was struck.

Robert Vernon Bartheld, 27, was cited for suspended license at Basswood Lane and Hynes Road.

Thursday, Feb. 14

Sergio Vasquez, 50, was cited for no driver’s license following a minor crash at Interstate 94 and Main Street.

Michael Thomas Boyer, 20, was arrested for domestic assault charges at the Super 8 Motel, 134th Avenue.

Friday, Feb. 15

Rogers Officers were dispatched to a call of a suspicious person at the Wells Faro Bank on Rogers Drive. The caller said that the man had tried to withdrawal money from a non-existent account. Officer found the subject in the area and identified him as a transient man from Maryland. The man claimed to have a bank account and said that all of his financial documents were stolen. The man was transported to a homeless shelter in Minneapolis.

Officers responded to a baby who had been choking and is now breathing. Child had a piece of candy in his mouth and it was taken out. Ambulance staff checked child out.

Saturday, Feb. 16

Melinda Lee Hackett, 38, was arrested for DWI at I-94 near Main Street.

Sunday, Feb. 17

Dispatch advised of a shoplifter in custody at 20200 Rogers Dr. and that the suspect had a concealed weapon on him. Dispatch advised the suspect had a permit to carry. Upon arrival, Officers detained the weapon for safety with no issues from the suspect. Wayne Allen Waterhouse, 45, was cited for theft and his weapon was returned.

Monday, Feb. 18

Matthew James Brindley, 25, was cited for failure to yield in a property damage auto crash at 13605 Northdale Blvd.
