FEB. 22 — A Happy Hour beer and wine tasting will be Friday, Feb. 22, supporting the Rogers seniors all night graduation party. The happy hour will from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rogers Community Center, 21201 Memorial Drive, Rogers. There will be 18 beer and 18 wine options, along with a variety of different flavored vodkas for tasting and purchasing at a reduced price.  There will be tickets available for many wonderful raffle items. Light Hors d’oeuvres will be served from local restaurants. Tickets will be available in advance for a reduced rate of $15 per ticket, contact Mary LeClaire 763-428-7790 or Rogers Wine & Spirits will have them available for purchase.  Tickets will be $20 per ticket at the door the night of the event. FEB. 24 ­— Mary Queen of Peace Religious Education Breakfast with Matching Grant by Catholic United Financial is Sunday, Feb. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Church Hall, St. Martin Campus (downtown Rogers). Menu includes pancakes, sausage, hash browns, eggs, fresh fruit, doughnuts, beverage. Cost is a free will offering .
Rotary art auction
FEB. 28 ­­— ­ ­­The 3rd Annual Rotary Art Auction is Thursday, Feb. 28, at 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Michael City Hall. Preview is from 5 to 6 p.m. Different this year is the artists are all local artists — from elementary school to adult local professional artists and photographers. Approximately 80 pieces will be on display and up for Live or Silent Auction. Admission is free.
Osseo Book Club
FEB. 12 — The Osseo Book Club will meet Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Edinburgh Golf Clubhouse, 8700 Edinbrook Crossing in Brooklyn Park. Mary Logue, award-winning poet and mystery writer, and Pete Hautman, author of “The Big Crunch” and named finalist for the 2012 MN Award, will be the featured speakers. The luncheon time is at noon with the speakers to follow.

Spring tree pruning seminar
MARCH 16 — A spring tree pruning seminar is Saturday, March 16, at 10 a.m. (corrected time from City Newsletter) at Hanover City Hall. Hanover Park Board is sponsoring a Spring Tree Pruning Seminar. This pruning class will cover the basics of preparing trees for long productive lives in the landscape. You will also learn how small errors in the beginning lead to big problems later on. The class will begin with a simple lesson in tree anatomy, which in critical to understanding which pruning methods are good and which are not. We will focus on developing well-structured young trees, correcting problems in trees, minimizing unnecessary storm damage with timely pruning techniques as well as how to maintain healthy shrubs and hedges. Instructor, Janet McDaniel has been a Tree Care Advisor in Wright County since 2007. Her passions are teaching people about proper planting practices and invasive species. The seminar starts at 10 and should be 30-45 minutes with question/answer forum afterwards.

Scholarship Program
MARCH 19 — Learn how you can receive a $200 scholarship, plus more, towards your post high school education through the Rogers Ambassador Scholarship Program. An informational meeting will be in the Rogers High School media center Tuesday, March 19 from 6:30 to 8 pm. This scholarship program is available to girls and guys, ages 16-21 who live, work or go to school in Rogers.
