Hockey: Blake ends Rogers girls season 7-3

The Blake Bears struck for three special-teams goals in the first six and a half minutes and went on to defeat the Rogers Royals 7-3 in the Section 5A semifinals Tuesday.

Blake, 18-5-3 and ranked No. 2 in the state, had a 46-16 edge in shots at Parade Ice Gardens in Minneapolis.

Madison Lehn, Emily Antony and Kaitlin Braiedy scored for Rogers, which finished 10-13-4.

Blake got a power play goal by Karlie Lund at 2:24, a shorthanded goal by Dani Camarenesi at 4:04 an another power play goal by Carly Bullock at 6:23. Rogers got on the board at 9:24 with Lehn scoring on the power play, assisted by Mackenzie Perna and Braiedy.

In the second period, Jordan Chancellor scored twice and Carmarenesi got another as Blake opened a 6-1 lead. Antony scored with 4 seconds left in the period, assisted by Lehn.

Camarenesi got the hat trick in the third period — lifting her season total to 49 goals. Braiedy closed the scoring, assisted by Antony and Katie Fellen. Rogers goalie Michelle Klimstra stopped 39 of 46 and Blake’s Tori Johnson was 13-for-16.
