February ‘reign’ in Rogers

Band director Chris Moore keeps the band entertaining the crowd at the start of the coronation. Those are pretty big smiles shared by Rogers High School seniors Levi Simpson and Abby Folk. And why not? They were just crowned 2013 Snow Days king and queen. She said yes! Zach Evans gets a congratulatory hug from Kelsey Frain after Evans surprised the entire staff and student body by singing a request for his prom date. Evans had stashed some flowers just for the occasion. Rogers queen candidates include Amy Brown, Corryn Stelflug, Alicia Catton, Rachel Sharp, Abby Folk and Madison Almquist. King candidates include Jake Johnson, Bryce Vogel, Paul Olson, Brandon Nelson, Levis Simpson and Ethan York. Folk and Simpson won the titles. Each snow week queen candidate and her king candidate escort did individual moves after they were introduced to the audience. In their case, Paul Olson just picked up Rachel Sharp and carried her to the candidates’ stage. Student team captains charge after balls in a dodge ball competition against staff.
Teacher Durand Onell takes the microphone to the student side of the “Teachers Vs. Students” trivia challenge. The students were declared the winners.
