Ann Brockman Smith
Private Memorial services for Ann Brockman Smith, 75, will be at a later date at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
She died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, in St. Michael. She began her long and happy career as an arts educator in the Minneapolis Public Schools in the early 1970s. She was a dedicated teacher who enjoyed bringing a love of art to the many students whose creativity she nurtured. She supported arts, artists, and cultural events of all kinds throughout her life.
She attended Northrop School in Minneapolis and earned her teaching degree at the University of Minnesota. She was predeceased in death by her loving parents, Sophie and Robert Brockman.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tracy Ann Runge (Larry) of Rogers, Minn., and Erin Marie Smith of Hancock, Mich., and three grandchildren, Nick, Matt and Katie Runge, who will always love and remember her sense of humor, curiosity and devotion to them.
