Officers found a Farm Supply Truck with 1,000 pounds of propane was rolled over on its side and propane was leaking from the tank. Delano Fire Department arrived and plugged the ruptured line. Copeland Road was closed at Highway 12, County Road 6 and Dean Lane for two and a half hours.

Preliminary investigation shows that the Waconia Farm Supply Propane delivery truck was backing into the driveway to make a delivery and got too close to the edge of the driveway. The truck slid off the driveway rolling over.

Neither the 54-year-old driver from Chaska nor his passenger 55-year-male from Brownton were seriously injured. The passenger was treated by Delano Fire Rescue and refused any further medical treatment.

Director Ray McCoy advised that no neighbors were ever in any danger. He said, “Delano Fire’s quick response, assessment and quickly stopping the propane leak prevented a situation that could have escalated.”
