OMGPA Alpine Skiers send racer to state championship

The OMGPC Alpine Ski team is sending a racer to compete at the Alpine State Championship at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, MN Feb. 13.

Mackenzie Koch, a junior from Maple Grove Senior High, qualified as an individual and will represent the team.  The team represents all three public schools in District 279 – Osseo, Maple Grove and Park Center.  They are coached by Ken McAdams and Michele Monroe. It placed seventh out of 18 teams at last week’s section meet.

Team racers who competed this season are: Koch, Jenna Ryynanen, Elizabeth Wangen, Emily Barr and Emma Wangen.

Maple Grove placed ninth out of 20 teams in the boys’ sections. Members of the boys’ team are: Jared Wangen, Matt Miner, Justin Kobberdahl, Nick Lindenfelser, Nathan Sanocki and Connor Koch.

The Osseo boys’ team placed 17th and competitors were Anders Burdick-Levang and Michael Isakson.
