NOW TO MARCH 2 — Calico Quilters and the Friends of the Delano Public Library are sponsoring their Fifth Annual Quilt Exhibit. Quilts of area needle artists are on display at the library at 160 Railroad Ave. E. through March 2.
FEB. 8 — There is a new Moms group in the area. MOMSnext will be meeting at Our Father’s Lutheran Church in Rockford on Friday, Feb. 8, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Our Fathers Lutheran Church in Rockford. It is a nonprofit organization affiliated with MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) International. MOMSnext is a ministry to mothers and grandmothers of school-age kids (or grandkids). This is a support group for the life phase of children going to school and is an accepting place for mothers to come as they are to experience authentic community, personal growth, practical help and spiritual hope.

Heart-Shaped Felted Soaps
FEB. 9 — Adults and teens 12 and older are invited to a Heart-Shaped Felted Soaps program at the Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E. on Saturday, Feb. 9. Artist Tamra Kowalski will present classes from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Attendance limit for each session is 15 and registration in advance is required. Bingo for Charity Bucks
FEB. 9 — On Saturday, Feb. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. (brats at 4:30), at the Riverview Estates Mobile Home Park Community Room (135 Highview Rd.) there will be a “bingo” event to raise proceeds for the Order of Easter Star, Minnesota Grand Chapter, for research at the Masonic Cancer Center. For a nominal fee, cards and dinner can be purchased.
Thousand Hearts Crow River Serve Day

FEB. 12 — The Wright County Wellness on Wheels (WOW) van will stop at Coborn’s supermarket on Highway 12 in Delano from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12. WOW services include adult and child immunizations; health screening; blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol checks by appointment; pregnancy, health and wellness checks and child car seat checks by appointment. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

FEB. 13 — Look Good….Feel Better is a free service which teaches people, as a cancer patient, beauty techniques to help enhance their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. This class will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ridgeview Medical Center. Make polymer clay mosaic tiles
FEB. 16 — Adults, teens and preteens 10 and older are invited to a class on making polymer clay mosaic tiles at the Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E., from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 16, Artist Stephanie Etzel will teach techniques to create and embellish mosaic tiles made with versatile polymer clay. The material can be baked in a home oven, and participants will leave with some completed, ready-to-bake tiles. This class requires the use of a sharp knife without supervision. FEB. 18 — A card marathon for men and women will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Delano Middle School media center, located on Tiger Drive north of Elm Avenue. The General Federated Women’s Club of Delano will host the marathon on the third Monday of every month from October through April, unless otherwise announced. GFWC charges a minimum fee for the marathon, which includes both 500 and cribbage. Last year over 50 people came to play. Refreshments will be served. Annie is a certified Reading Education Assistance Dog. Sign ups are on the same day for 15 minutes of one on one reading time. The library will provide books of all reading levels.
