Fashion show/luncheon

FEB. 9 — St. Michael American Legion Auxiliary invites everyone to a Valentine/Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon, Saturday, Feb. 9, from 12:30 to 2 p.m.  The show will be at Liberty Restaurant and Bar, 25 Central Av. E, St. Michael. Models will be wearing clothing provided by Chicos of Outlets at Albertville. Tickets for the show and luncheon are $15 pre-sale or $20 day of show. All Night Grad 

Party fund-raiser

FEB. 9 — A wine & beer tasting and silent auction fund-raiser supporting the STMA All Night Graduation Party is Saturday, Feb. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the St. Michael City Center, 11800 Town Center Drive, St Michael. There will be a variety of Wines and Micro Brews for tasting and purchasing at a reduced price. All silent auction proceeds go to support the STMA 2013 All Night Grad Party. Daze & Knights planning

FEB. 11 — The St. Michael Daze & Knights Festival committee will be meeting to begin planning the 7th annual Festival Monday, Feb. 11, at St. Michael City Hall in the J&B Group room at 6 p.m. To be a part of the planning process or have ideas to make the event greater, join at the meeting. Toddler Storytime

FEB. 11 — Toddlers ages 18 months to 3 years, together with a parent/caregiver, are invited to Toddler Storytime at the St. Michael Public Library Monday, Feb. 11, 10:05 to 10:35 a.m. Siblings are welcome to attend. Toddler Storytime includes stories, songs, finger plays and movement activities designed to stimulate a toddler’s basic literacy skills. The theme will be Valentines. Registration is required.

Author in St. Michael

FEB. 15 — The St. Michael-Albertville-Hanover Friends of the Library is honored to host “An Evening with Larry Millett,” Friday, Feb. 15. The event is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Library and will include a social hour where wine, coffee and a variety of desserts will be served, followed by a presentation by Millett. Millett is an author, journalist,historian and teacher. His books on the history of architecture in Minnesota have been the subject of featured programs on public televistion including, “Lost Twin Cities.” His latestbook, “Once There Were Castles,” covers ninety lost mansions of the Twin Cities, organized by city and neighborhoods, was a 2011 Minnesota Book Award Finalist. He is also the author of many mystery books including, “The Magic Bullet.” Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Crow River Senior Center, or by order form at the St. Michael Library. Both are located at 11800 Town Center Drive NE in St. Michael. He will be available following the presentation for a book signing.

German Dinner Fund-raiser

FEB. 16 — On Saturday, Feb. 16, the Hanover Harvest Festival Committee is putting on a German dinner to raise funds for a fireworks display at this year’s festival.  Bring your family and join your neighbors at Hanover City Hall between 4 and 7 p.m. for a delicious traditional German dinner.  The menu will consist of beer stube (German sausage), German potato salad, spaetzle, sauerkraut, dinner rolls, German chocolate cake or Apple dessert, and a choice of beverage (milk, water, coffee). A kids’ smaller portion meal is also available, (hot dogs available while they last). Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for kids. Assuming a German dinner isn’t complete without a little brew, the Hanover Lions will be selling beer (and pop). Enjoy listening to the music and try your winning your favorite item at the silent auction. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of fireworks for this summer’s harvest festival. The mission of the Hanover Harvest Festival is to promote a sense of community by bridging the best of the past with a vision for the future.

Mixed Blood Theatre

FEB. 16 — The Mixed Blood Theatre will perform “Daughters Of Africa” at the St. Michael Public Library Saturday, Feb. 16, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The program is most suited to adults, teens and children in grade five and older. It is a music-driven celebration of African American women featuring the songs of Lena Horne, Aretha Franklin, Queen Latifah and others. The Mixed Blood Theatre is a multi-cultural, professional theater group based in Minneapolis. This performance is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Be a Choirboy for a Day

FEB. 18 — The Land of Lakes Choirboys is hosting a new event for boys ages 8-12 on Monday, Feb. 18. The event, “Choirboy for a Day” will offer boys the chance to experience a day in the life of a Land of Lakes Choirboy. The boys will spend time discovering their voices, exploring music, having fun with friends – new and old, and learning about teamwork. Rotary art auction

FEB. 28 –— – –The 3rd Annual Rotary Art Auction is Thursday, Feb. 28, at 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Michael City Hall. Preview is from 5 to 6 p.m. Different this year is the artists are all local artists — from elementary school to adult local professional artists and photographers. Approximately 80 pieces will be on display and up for Live or Silent Auction. Admission is free.
