Freeze Your Buns Run lives up to its name

The thermometer hovered in the vicinity of seven degrees on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3, and participants in the Freeze Your Buns Run in Hamel looked prepared. All kinds of participants — kids, dogs, runners, walkers — turned out for the 10th annual Hamel Lions 5K fun run/walk. (Photo by Bill Nord)

Steam escaped from runners mouths, Sunday, Feb. 3, as they huffed and puffed along the 5K course at the Freeze Your Buns Run in Hamel. The 10th annual fun run/walk ended with a pancake breakfast at the Hamel Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. The Hamel Lions, sponsors of the event, will use the money to benefit community projects.
