Applicants sought for Alice Ragborg Scholarship

The Alice Ragborg Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in memory of Alice Ragborg, long-time teacher in the Osseo Area School District, is open for applications.

The scholarship fund provides a scholarship to a student of District 279 to further his or her education at a four-year college of the student’s choice. One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded each year and may be renewed for up to three additional years or until the recipient earns a bachelor’s degree. Eligible applicants include high school seniors graduating from Osseo Senior, Maple Grove Senior or Park Center Senior High Schools.

Those students interested can contact a counselor at their school for more information regarding the scholarship. The application deadline is Feb. 15.

Ragborg dedicated more than 30 years to students in the Osseo district. She began her career in 1966 teaching third and fifth grades at Palmer Lake Elementary and continued in sixth grade at Birch Grove and fifth grade at Oak View Elementary School.

The fund was created in 1999 by family and friends in recognition of Ragborg’s commitment to education.
