MG Arts Center Textile Show

NOW TO FEB. 6 — The Maple Grove Arts Center will present the 2013 Textile Show “Fabrications” running now through Feb. 6. The show will feature creativity in yarn, knitting, sewing and weaving. Yellow Tree production

FEB. 1 TO 24 — Yellow Tree Theatre, 320 Fifth Ave. in Osseo, is set to produce a new play, “Circle Mirror Transformation,” by one of the most successful young playwrights in the country. Performances run Feb. 1 through 24. In the play, four characters count to ten, hula hoop, and pretend to be stuffed animals as their acting instructor of questionable accreditation cheers them on. As the acting exercises become more bizarre and seemingly pointless true identities are exposed, hearts are torn apart, and dreams crumble in this deeply sad yet strikingly moving story. National Pancake Day

FEB. 5 — IHOP will host National Pancake Day Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Restaurant guests can enjoy a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes and in turn are invited to contribute at least what they would have paid for the pancakes, or $5. FEB. 5 — The Osseo School Board will have a negotiation strategies meeting Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 6 p.m. in the conference room of the Education Service Center, 11200 93rd Ave. in Maple Grove. This meeting is closed to the public. A regular meeting will follow at 8 p.m. in the board room of the ESC. This meeitng is open to the public.

MG Critical Thinkers

FEB. 9 — The Maple Grove Critical Thinking Discussion Group will present  “How Physical Activity Improves Critical Thinking Skills” with Christine Denson, Physical Education Teacher, Minnetonka Schools Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Champps Americana, 13521 80th Circle N. in Maple Grove. Bingo

FEB. 9 — Members of the Boy Scout Troop 610 will host a fun night of Bingo at St. Joseph the Worker, on Hemlock Lane in Maple Grove, Saturday, Feb. 9, from 6:15 to 9 p.m. There will be bingo as well as a small midway and concession stand. This is to raise money for the running of the troop and ensuring that they have the needed supplies for camping. The price is $5 per bingo card to use the whole night. French toast breakfast

FEB. 10 — Boy Scout Troop 610 welcomes everyone to a French Toast Breakfast Sunday, Feb. 10, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Maple Grove. On the menu is French toast and sausage. This serves to supply the troop with needed materials for its camping. The price is $7 for adults and $4 for children.
