Registration is now open for the 2013 Maple Grove Polar Bear Plunge, presented by Minnesota law enforcement to benefit Special Olympics Minnesota.
Plungers define what it means to be “freezin’ for a reason” by raising funds to jump into Minnesota’s frigid waters. The funds raised benefit more than 7,100 Special Olympics Minnesota athletes, as they train, compete and transform themselves, their communities and the world.
In 2012, approximately 940 brave souls took the Plunge in Maple Grove and raised more than $184,000.
The Maple Grove Plunge this year is Saturday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m. at Fish Lake Regional Park, 14900 Bass Lake Road in Maple Grove. Day-of check-in will be at the plunge site start at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Lookout Bar and Grill, 8672 Pineview Lane N. in Maple Grove.
