CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Independent School District 279 School Board was held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in the Board Room at the Educational Service Center. Chairperson Dean Henke called the meeting to order at 8:06 PM.
The following were present: Board members Tammie Epley, Dean Henke, Jim Burgett, Teresa Lunt, Laura Cottington, Kim Green and ex officio member Superintendent Dr. Kate Maguire.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA
Motion by Chairperson Dean Henke, seconded by Director Tammie Epley, to accept the printed agenda. The motion carried unanimously.
APPRECIATION OF RETIRING SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS
Superintendent, Dr. Kate Maguire, recognized the distinguished service of retiring school board members, Vice-Chair Kim Green and Director Laura Cottington.
AUDIENCE OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS THE SCHOOL BOARD
Community member, Collette Guyott-Hempel, expressed concerns regarding school board support for district nurses and Kidstop program staff. Guyott-Hempel asked board members to consider board member salaries reductions when reviewed in January.
District staff member Kate Janka, along with Carrie O’Neill and Mindy Lee addressed the board paying tribute to retiring school board member Vice-Chair Kim Green.

Motion by Chairperson Dean Henke, seconded by Director Laura Cottington, to approve items in the consent agenda. The motion carried unanimously.
GIFTS TO THE DISTRICT
Motion by Chairperson Dean Henke, seconded by Director Kim Green, to approve the Gifts to the District totaling $59,674.87. The motion carried unanimously.
2013 SCHOOL BOARD REPRESENTATIVE TO COMMITTEE
Motion by Director Kim Green, seconded by Director Tammie Epley, to approve 2013 School Board Representative to Joint Board of Intermediate District 287: Dean Henke. The motion carried unanimously.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
2013 URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
Notice is hereby given that the City of Maple Grove in cooperation with Hennepin County, pursuant to Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, is holding a public hearing on February 4, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at the Maple Grove Government Center, 12800 Arbor Lakes Park, Maple Grove.
The public hearing is on the housing and community development needs and the city’s proposed use of the 2013 Urban Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant Program planning allocation of $118,462.
In addition, between July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014, no program income funds from previously funded CDBG activities will be available to the city.
The City of Maple Grove is proposing to undertake the following activities with 2013 Urban Hennepin County CDBG funds starting on or about July 1, 2013. An estimated fund amount is being used until the Dept. of Housing & Urban Development notifies Hennepin County of the final allocation.
