Rogers had one champion, Peter Oakland, and one runner-up at the Zimmerman Invitational.

The team had entrants at just seven of 14 weights, with several held out due to match counts, said coach Chris Donnary. They placed seventh among nine teams.

Oakland (9-8), freshman heavyweight, placed first among four entrants with pins against Grand Rapids’ Cole Walters in 1:22 and Glencoe-Silver Lake-Lester Prairie’s Chris Lemke in 3:37.

Andrew Piehl (10-6), also a freshman, was 220-pound runner-up. He pinned Rockford’s Jake Pittman in 1:23 and Princeton’s Luke Winkelman in 3:46, then lost 4-3 in the finals to Pine Island’s Zach Kennedy, who has an 18-1 record.

Connor Larson (12-4) was 2-2 for the day and placed fourth at 126. Jordan Bond (4-12) was 2-2 and placed fifth at 138. Rogers will host Buffalo on Thursday.
