KC Lumberjack Breakfast
JAN. 20 — The “famous KC Lumberjack Breakfast … you better be hungry!” is Sunday, Jan. 20, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Church Hall, St. Martin Campus (Downtown Rogers). Menu includes pancakes, French toast, hash browns, sausage and eggs, juice, milk and coffee. Free will offering, proceeds benefit church, school and community. Sponsored, cooked and served by the Northwest-Hennepin Knights of Columbus Council #11941.
Ice skating event
JAN. 20 — Hanover Park Board is sponsoring a Community Ice Skating event Sunday, Jan. 20 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Community Garden Park which next to Hanover City Hall. Bring your own skates and chair(s) if you would like. There will be bonfire and refreshments. This is free event. If you are just learning how to skate or are an old pro – this is for everyone of all ages. Come out and enjoy some skating and community togetherness this winter. Meet some friends or make some new ones.

Middle school motivation
JAN. 24 — St. Michael-Albertville Middle School East is hosting a “Your Choice, Your Future” presentation Thursday, Jan. 24, at 1:30 p.m. All eighth grade students from both Middle School East and West will be attending this motivational talk from Minnesota Education Assistant Commissioner Elia Bruggeman and guest speaker Kablia Thao from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education. Their discussions with our students will center around the concepts of how education, hard work and making positive choices help lead to great outcomes in life.
JAN. 26 — Adults, teens and children of all ages are invited to a program about Minnesota’s Animal Tracks at the St. Michael Public Library Saturday, Jan. 26, 11 a.m. to noon. Learn what animal tracks look like and why they are important. This one-hour session will include learning about tracks through storytelling, activities, and creating a personal field guide of Minnesota animal tracks to take home. This program will be presented by students from St. John’s University. The attendance limit is 50 and preregistration is required. Night Light Story Time
JAN. 31 — Infants, toddlers and preschoolers are invited to Night Light Storytime at the St. Michael Public Library on Thursday, Jan. 31, 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Cuddle up with your favorite teddy bear and snuggle in for bedtime stories. Pajamas and blankies are encouraged. Night Light Storytime will take place the last Thursday of every month. For additional information, contact the St. Michael library at 763-497-1998.
Lions ice fishing contest
FEB. 2 — The annual St. Michael Lions club Ice Fishing Contest is a go this year. The contest will be at Beebe Lake Saturday, Feb. 2, from noon to 3 pm. The contest is open to all. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 16 and under. This year’s raffle prizes include a gas powered ice auger, Vexilar FL20 Ultra, fishing equipment and various gift certificates. Tickets can be purchased at Dehmer’s Meats, Hardware Hank, Lion members, as well as other local businesses in St. Michael. The Lions and Boy Scouts will be offering food, coffee and sodas. This will be an excellent opportunity to bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun conversation and fishing.
