Nominations and applications for the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 Excellence in Business Awards are now being taken.
The deadline for nominations and applications is Jan. 15.
The 2012 Excellence in Business Awards event will take place Tuesday, Feb. 5, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Majestic Oaks.
The chamber awards recognize “exemplary chamber businesses for their performance, innovation and community commitment.”
The 2012 award will be given to one business from each of three categories.
• Services – financial services, business services, consumer services, education, non-profit and other organizations that primarily market products.
• Products – manufacturers, construction, hospitality and other organizations that primarily market products.
• Micro business – sole proprietors and/or businesses that employ fewer than two people.
Chamber businesses can either be nominated for the award or apply for the award themselves.
Both the nominator and nominees must be current MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce members and in good standing.
Nomination and application forms can be downloaded from the chamber website at www.metronorthchamber.org.
Judges will comprise selected members of the chamber.
Keynote speaker at the awards event is Kieran Folliard, founder of 2 Gingers Whiskey, which was recently sold to liquor giant Beam and is going national.
“Folliard will give an engaging presentation on his success story,” said Lori Higgins, chamber president.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with the awards ceremony at noon.
The cost is $20 for chamber members and $35 for non-members. Call 763-783-3553 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
