Area Hennepin County Libraries will be hosting several classes and meetings during the month of January and help people stay warm this winter.
The Maple Grove Library, 8001 Main St. N., will offer the following events in January:
“Anime Showcase,” Saturday, Jan. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. — For teens. Don’t miss this chance to watch an amazing line-up of Japanese animation on the big screen. Anime Twin Cities has teamed up with the library to offer something for everyone. Cosplay is encouraged.Visit hclib.org/teens/AnimeManga or stop by the library for more information. “Preschool Storytime,” Tuesdays, Jan. 15 through Feb. 26, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. — For families. For children ages 4 to 6. Help a preschooler get ready to read. Enjoy stories together and build language skills.
“Toddler Storytime,” Thursdays, Jan. 17 through Feb. 28, at 10:30 a.m. — For families. For children ages 2 and 3. Interact with a toddler to nurture a love of books. Learn letters, sounds, and new words. Be active with music and movement.
“Baby Storytime,” Fridays, Jan. 18 through Feb. 22, from either 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. or from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. — Registration required, begins Dec. 21 for either session. Register online or call 612-543-6450. For children from birth to 24 months. Delight and stimulate a baby’s senses with books and music. Build brain power.
The Osseo Library, 415 Central Ave., will host at “Friends Meeting,” Monday, Jan. 28, at 6:30 p.m. Join fellow library enthusiasts to hear what’s happening at Hennepin County Library. Help support the library by planning and volunteering at book sales, programs, and special events. The Friends look forward to meeting you. General membership meeting.
