Arrests
Corcoran Police reported a DAS/No Insurance arrest Tuesday, Jan. 1 at 3:50 p.m. in the area of Highway 55 and County Rd. 19. Arrested was Mason, Ihsan, 38, of Minneapolis for driving with a suspended LA driver’s license and for driving without insurance.
Corcoran Police reported a DAR arrest Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 10:52 p.m. in the area of Maple Hill Rd. and County Rd. 10. Arrested was Juan Manuel Mora, 26, of Minneapolis for driving after revocation of his driver’s license.
Personal Injury / Property Damage Accident/Incident
The department reported a property damage incident Sunday, Dec. 23 at 10:32 a.m. in the area of 196XX Country Circle East. The reporting party advised a helicopter had placed down on the cement pad in the back yard and as the pilot was going through shut down procedures, the helicopter began to turn. The helicopter continued turning and struck a utility trailer sitting next to the landing pad. Debris was scattered all over the yard. The pilot had minor scratches and burns. The FAA and Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the accident.
The department reported a property damage incident Saturday, Dec. 29 at 9:25 a.m. in the area of 78XX Kalk Rd. The reporting party stated that sometime overnight, an unknown vehicle was traveling north on Kalk Rd. and struck the reporting party’s mailbox, breaking it off its pole. There are no suspects at this time.
The department reported a property damage accident Tuesday, Jan. 1 at 3:02 p.m. in the area of Highway 55 and County Rd. 19. Driver of vehicle #1 was following too close to vehicle #2. The driver of vehicle #2 stated the driver of vehicle #1 had been tailgating them for a couple of miles and when driver of vehicle #2 stopped for a red light, vehicle #1 struck the rear of vehicle #2. No injuries were reported.
Theft
Theft of a cell phone was reported Friday, Dec. 28 at 1:39 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party lives in Georgia and had accidently left their cell phone in a rental car they had rented in Georgia. They received their cell phone bill and found the phone had been used numerous times. Upon investigation, it was determined that the suspect worked for the rental vehicle company and found the cell phone in the vehicle. The suspect kept the cell phone and used it for their trip back to Minnesota. The report has been forwarded to the City Attorney for possible charges.
Theft of a license plate was reported Friday, Dec. 28 at 2:27 p.m. in the 209XX block of County Rd. 117. The reporting party stated that sometime between Saturday, Dec. 22 and Thursday, Dec. 27, an unknown suspect(s) had stolen the front license plate from their vehicle. There are no suspects in this case. The license plate has been entered as stolen.
Theft of items was reported Saturday, Dec. 29 at 3:52 p.m. in the 76XX block of County Rd. 116. The reporting party stated two suspects just left in a vehicle and they had stolen pop from the business. On a previous visit to the business, the suspect had filled their pockets with candy and left the store without paying for the items. The Officers were able to locate the suspects and they confessed to the theft. Officers advised them to return to the store and pay for the items. They were then trespassed from the store.
Medicals
The department responded to a medical emergency Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 3:18 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. A 43 year old female was ill and had abdominal pain. The patient was transported to U of M Hospital by North Ambulance.
The department responded to a medical emergency Saturday, Dec. 29 at 11:17 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. A 62 year old female was having chest pains. The patient was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by North Ambulance.
Miscellaneous
The department responded to a report of a runaway on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 12:09 p.m. in the 63XX block of Pioneer Tr. The reporting party advised their juvenile daughter had run away from home. Officers arrived in the area to attempt to locate the child. The child was located at 12:45 p.m. The juvenile was checked out and appeared fine.
The department responded to a report of a suicidal person on Tuesday, Dec. 25 at 7:09 p.m. in the 202XX block of Abilene La. The juvenile stated they had tried cutting themselves and needed help. The juvenile was placed on a health and welfare hold.
The department responded to a report of a grass fire on Thursday, Dec. 27 at 12:49 p.m. in the 203XX block of County Rd. 50. The reporting party stated they were driving by, observed a large brush pile burning and no one was attending the fire. Upon the Officer’s arrival, the homeowner was on site attending the fire. The fire was a clean burn and the Fire Department was cancelled.
The department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Friday, Dec. 28 at 8:58 p.m. in the area of Heather La. and Meadowview Dr. The reporting party stated there was an unoccupied vehicle parked in the neighborhood. The Officer arrived on scene and found no one in the vehicle. The Officer attempted to locate the vehicle’s owner; however there were no listed phone numbers for them. The vehicle was parked legally. The Officer advised the reporting party.
The department responded to a report of a suspicious person on Friday, Dec. 28 at 9:59 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party stated there was an unknown person window peeping. They fled on foot through the neighbor’s yard. The Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the suspect.
The department responded to a report of an attempt to locate on Sunday, Dec. 30 at 3:22 a.m. in the 73XX block of Rolling Hills Rd. The reporting party stated their friend had texted them and made suicidal comments. The Officers located the victim and placed them on a health and welfare hold.
The department responded to a report of a disturbance on Tuesday, Jan. 1 at 1:01 a.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party stated there were people out on the street being loud. The people were gone on the Officer’s arrival.
The department responded to a report of a welfare check on Friday, Jan. 4 at 1:02 p.m. in the 100XX block of Jeffery La. An adult male was having anger issues and threatened to take pills so he could go to sleep and not wake up. Officers put the male on a health and welfare hold.
The department responded to a report of suspicious activity on Monday, Jan. 7 at 12:46 a.m. in the 206XX block of 109th Ave. N. The Officer was patrolling the area and observed a house with the garage door open and several lights on. The Officer attempted to locate a homeowner in the house, but was able to locate them in an outbuilding. All was okay.
