by Jack Russek
Wright County commissioner, district 3

After 20 years, this is my last letter for the paper, and I thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to serve as your Wright County Commissioner.
The Wright County Board had its last full agenda meeting on Dec. 18. The board met the following week to pay claims only.
On Dec. 18 we authorized signatures on the Community Adult Mental Health Initiative joint powers agreement.
We approved a memorandum of agreement with Corrina Township extending the Shoreland Authority for 2013.
We approved a master partnership contract with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and an agency agreement with MnDOT for exchange of funds with Crow Wing County.
We passed a resolution authorizing repurchase of a tax forfeit parcel and several parcels by the city of Waverly for improvements to their city.
We approved a revised fund balance policy in accordinance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board 54 (GASB) and a policy for direct deposit.
Kerry Saxton, of the Soil and Water Conservation District, reported on County Ditches 41, 38 and 15. Plaques were presented to retiring County Commissioners Dick Mattson, Elmer Eichelberg, Rose Thelen and Jack Russek.
We reviewed and approved the minutes from the Personnel Committee meeting.
Jack Russek has retired after 20 years as Wright County Commissioner for District 3. He now is a member of the Delano City Council.
