Kyler Swanson notched  his 100th wrestling victory Thursday evening, highlighting the action for Rogers at their home quadrangular in which the Royals won all three matches.

Swanson, a senior at 145 pounds, reached 100 with a first-period pin of Spectrum’s Zac Selly. He also had a tech fall and major decision.

“Kyler getting his 100th victory was huge for our program,” said Royal coach Chris Donnay.

Swanson has 101 wins, three short of Todd Klemz’s team record of 104.

The Royals beat Park Center 49-22, Spectrum 63-18, and Brooklyn Center 46-12.

Spectrum also lost its other two matches to Brooklyn Center 42-36 and Park Center 53-21.

Also going 3-0 for Rogers were Cruz Martinez at 126 (two pins), Connor Larson at 132 (pin, tech fall), Phillip Anderson at 138 (three pins), Steffan Paige at 160 (one pin), Jake Owens at 182 (two pins), and Jordan Lemcke at 195 (one pin).

Going 2-0 were Ryan Lien at 220 (two pins) and Andrew Piehl at 285 (one pin). Peter Oakland had a pin in his lone bout at 285.  Tyler Eicher was 2-1 at 170. Going 1-2 were Brandon Magnuson at 120 (one pin) and Jordan Bond at 152.

“It was nice to get everyone out there to see what we could do with almost a full lineup,” said Donnay. “Everyone we put out there got at least one win tonight.  We started out a little slow the first round against Park Center but once we got the ball rolling it didn’t stop.  We got bonus points where we needed them and didn’t give up too many,”

Eicher and Lemcke each beat a Park Center wrestler coming off Maple Grove tournament titles where the Royals placed fourth and fifth.
