Knight wrestlers defeat Scott West 55-9
The St. Michael-Albertville High School wrestling team continued its winning ways as they won 12 of 14 individual matches in defeating Scott West in a dual meet Friday, Dec. 21, at STMA High School, by a score of 55-9.
Scott West, a perennial Minnesota power house in class “AA” wrestling, defeated the Knights last season in a dual, but were no match for the home team, this year, as the Knights dominated the Panthers, with pins from Jordan Joseph, Jake Briggs, Ricky Briggs, and Mikey Kessler, and technical falls from Mitchell McKee and Cole Sladek. With the dual meet victory, the Knights improved their dual meet record to 5-0, but will be severely challenged to keep their dual meet record unblemished, as they next compete in “The Clash”, a 32-team dual meet tournament that attracts many of the nation’s top high school wrestling teams from all over the United States.
