A group of students taking Spanish at Jackson Middle School visit El Burrito Mercado in St. Paul. El Burrito Mercado is a family-owned restaurant, bakery, market, and grocery store all under one roof. El Burrito Mercado was decorated in preparation for the big “Día de los Muertos” holiday.
This holiday is one of the most important holidays to be celebrated in Mexico because it sets time aside to remember loved ones who have passed away, reminiscent of Memorial Day in the U.S. Students saw many things they have been learning bout in class. They ate dinner and shopped practicing conversations in real-life situations in Spanish.
