Library to sell low cost children’s books

The Friends of the Delano Public Library will provide slightly used children’s hardcover books for those families that want to provide an educational gift for their children but cannot afford one.

Children’s books will be available for sale at the library, 160 Railroad Ave. E., only during December.

“A Christmas gift of a book is a treasure that will thrill, educate and entertain a child over and over again,” said MaryAnn Bernat, of the Delano Friends.

The books will be located in the main fiction section on shelves that previously held U.S. tax forms. A small suggested donation of $.50 for each book can be paid at the check out desk. The used books will be specially marked so patrons and library staff will know it is a Friends of the Library book.
