Aaron Lien poured in 30 points as the Moorhead Spuds foiled the Rogers Royals 76-62 on Saturday in Moorhead.
Mead, a senior forward, made 14 of 16 free shots, the bulk of them late in the game as the Spuds pulled away when Rogers had to foul.
Ryan Gelle netted 14 points, Cullen Loughlin 14 and Luke Pecka 11 for Rogers (2-3).
Austin Nelson added 16 points for No. 10 ranked Moorhead (3-1).
The Spuds shot a sizzling 28-for-47 on field goals, 59.5 percent, while Rogers made just 38 percent.
On bright spot for Rogers was making just eight turnovers. They have been averaging 20 turnovers.
In earlier action, the Rogers Royals opened their weekend northern trip with a 71-47 victory over the Bemidji Lumberjacks Friday evening in Bemidji.
The Royals held Bemidji (0-3), which scored 73 and 85 points its first two games, to 30 percent field goal shooting with straight man-to-man defense.
Gunnar Bloom netted 13 points while Cullen Loughlin and Cole Murray sank 11 points each and Sam Spilles 10 points.
Rogers was to host St. Cloud Tech on Tuesday.
