Rogers Police

The following represents some but not nearly all of the incidents reported by Rogers Police from Monday, Dec. 3 to Monday, Dec. 10.

Monday, Dec. 3

Driver was involved in a minor crash on Nov. 29, at northbound Hwy. 101 south of 141st Ave. After exchanging information wth the other driver he has found the insurance was either incorrect or not current. The other driver is not returning phone calls. Officer is investigating.

Jessica Marie Tijerina, 34, was arrested for DWI. Received a driving complaint of a vehicle all over the road. Stopped vehicle on Main Street north of County Rd. 36. Driver refused to test and was booked in the Hennepin County Jail. Vehicle was left at the stop location.

John Jeremy Knapp, 38, was cited for shoplifting, misdemeanor theft at Cabela’s.

Danielle Aleen Moos, 29, was cited for expired driver’s license at County Rd. 81 and Fletcher Lane.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

An employee observed two occupants from suspect vehicle concealing unpaid merchandise inside Walgreen’s. Both left without making payment in suspect vehicle. Officer was unable to locate suspect vehicle, registering out of Brooklyn Center. Report was taken and will be forwarded to Hennepin County Detectives for further follow up.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

Rogers Police Department was dispatched to the 20200 Block of Mallard Way for a possible domestic dispute. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the victim. Upon further investigation, the suspect, Leroy Ludwig Sterling, 33, was arrested of Domestic Assault and was transported to the Hennepin County Jail.

Thursday, Dec. 6

While officers were at a residence for a welfare check at Grouse Lane, they observed a city road sign and post in the yard, which had been missing from an intersection nearby. The sign was believed to have been knocked down by a vehicle at the intersection of 147th Ave and Country Road. The sign and post has since been replaced. Officer spoke with the owner and advised that the sign was City property and she could not possess it or use it for decoration. Public Works was contacted to pick up the sign.

Officer met with a subject at the Rogers PD who reported that his skidloader had been stolen from Scharber & Sons. A report was taken and the skidloader was entered as stolen.

Kelle Marie Derbis, 42, was cited for expired registration, suspended driver at South Diamond Lake Road and Main Street.

Friday, Dec. 7

Homeowner at 24800 block of 123rd Avenue arrived home to find an unidentified male in her detached unsecured garage. He got into a maroon mid sized coupe that was parked adjacent to the garage. The car did have an open trunk. The suspect backed away from the reporting and drove through the yard to get onto 123rd Ave. Several tools and scrap copper were missing from the garage. Residence was secure, no witnesses aside from homeowner were located. Hennepin County crime lab responded and assisted in processing the crime scene. Case will be forwarded to Hennepin County Detectives for further investigation.

Rogers officer responded to assist Dayton PD on a report of a baby choking at a residence in the Dayton Trailer Park. The 2-year-old child’s airway was cleared and he was breathing normal again. Dayton Fire and North Paramedics arrived to provide further assistance.

Margo Marie Rutland, 34, was cited for no vehicle insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia at Interstate 94 and Main Street.

Saturday, Dec. 8

Officer was conducting extra patrol in the residential area near Frederick Road and 147th Ave and located city street signs that had been erected on the roof of a shed, apparently for decoration. Rogers Public Works was notified to recover the sign post and signs.

Sunday, Dec. 9

Officer was dispatched to a car in the ditch on 141st Ave near Mallard DR. Officer found that the vehicle was stuck and learned that the driver, Maria Felix Rodirguez, 36, did not have a driver’s license. The vehicle was towed to the owner’s residence and the driver was issued a citation for No MN Drivers License. The driver was a non-US citizen, identified by a Mexico ID, who did not have a driver s license. Driver had been going too fast for road conditions, during a snowstorm, and drove into the ditch, and was cited.
