Santa’s coming to Osseo

4th Annual Minidazzle Parade, Tree Lighting event planned Dec. 7

One of the best ways to celebrate the Christmas and holiday season is at Osseo’s Minidazzle celebration. The fourth annual Minidazzle Parade and Holiday Tree Lighting event is set for Friday, Dec. 7, starting at 6 p.m.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with the Minidazzle Parade featuring decorated area fire trucks and emergency vehicles. Santa will ride into Osseo atop an Osseo Fire Truck at the end of the parade.

From 6 until 8 p.m. people can find action outside by Boerboom Veterans Park and walk down the street to find many other fun activities including:

• Pictures with Santa (goodie bags for the first 300 kids)

• Osseo Senior High Choir performs

• Hot beverages, cookies and hot dogs

• Fire Truck Rides

• Tree Lighting

• Toys for Tots

• Bonfire on Fifth Street


More children’s activities will be provided in the Osseo Community Center, 415 Central Avenue.

Various businesses/churches throughout Osseo will have decorated Live Windows for everyone to see.

Starting at 8 p.m. (until about 10 p.m.) the movie “Scrooge” (1935) will be playing inside the Osseo Community Center.

Event-goers are also asked to bring a toy or non-perishable food item to support local families in need.

The fun doesn’t stop there. Santa sticks around Osseo for more day of fun. The Osseo Lions Club will present Lunch with Santa Saturday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Community Center at Osseo City Hall, 415 Central Avenue.  Participants can get their picture taken with Santa as well. Cost for lunch is $8 for adults and kids eat free. Lunch will be provided by Lynde’s Restaurant.
