Citizens Police Academy grads

Twelve citizens of the community completed the West Hennepin Public Safety’s Citizens Police Academy course on Nov. 15. Through the seven-week course, the participants got to learn about the Police Department and it’s history. They experienced what it was like to make a traffic stop and how to testify in a court setting. Other classes during the seven weeks included information on Police K-9 and their use, taking a tour of the Hennepin County 911 Dispatch Center, recognizing and arresting impaired drivers, Use of Force tactics and weapons, investigative procedures and narcotics.
