Thanks, election judges

To the Editor:

The City of Albertville would like to recognize the hard work and dedication of its election judges in the 2012 General Election. The election judges worked without rest at the polls on Election Day at City Hall, thus allowing a total of 3,447 voters to cast their ballots. Though lines were long, spirits were high.

The judges registered an amazing 743 new voters on Election Day. Albertville City staff appreciates the commitment and hard work of the election judges, many of them staying after their shifts or coming back later in the day to help process voters through the lines.

Special thanks goes to our chair judges and absentee ballot board who ensured that election law was followed and everything came together at the end of the day. Last but not least, let us thank our recount team for the hours spent sorting and counting ballots. Without our election judges, we could not have had such a successful election process.

Thank you, election judges!
