Toys for CROSS
NOW THROUGH DECEMBER — Hardee’s, at 14086 Northdale Blvd. in Rogers, will give everyone who donates a new toy for CROSS a free beverage. CROSS Food Shelf will receive these toys and give them to children in the community during the month of December in conjunction with the Toys for Tots/Teens program. Also, anyone interested can donate food or toys to CROSS the warehouse is at 12915 Weinand Circle in Rogers. CROSS serves Maple Grove, Osseo, Rogers, west Champlin, Dayton and Corcoran.
‘Miracle on Christmas Lake II’
NOW TO DEC. 30 — Yellow Tree Theatre, 320 Fifth Ave. S.E. in Osseo, will bring back the sequel to its original smash-hit holiday comedy “Miracle on Christmas Lake II” by Jessica Lind. Performances run through Dec. 30. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. matinees Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets range from $17 to 23. OARE Scholarship breakfast
NOV. 30 — The community is invited to attend the Scholarship Breakfast, sponsored by Osseo Area Retired Educators (OARE), Friday, Nov. 30, from 6 to 9 a.m. at the Osseo Senior High School cafeteria, 317 Second Ave. N.W. in Osseo. The menu will include homemade waffles, sausage, fruit toppings, orange juice, milk and coffee. Retirees and staff will also display crafts for sale. Tickets are $8 at the door. If anyone is unable to attend the breakfast, they may still donate to the scholarship fund. Grief support group
NOV. 30 — Chapel Chummies, a grief support group organized by Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapels, has scheduled its November outing to Cirque Dreams, Winter Wonderland from Cirque Productions at the Mystic Lake Casino Friday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. Chapel Chummies is a group of widows and widowers that goes on day trips, attends shows and gets together for social gatherings. There are no fees to join Chapel Chummies and all trips are optional. Steak fry & bake sale
NOV. 30 — The Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Auxiliary will be hosting a Steak Fry and Bake Sale Friday, Nov. 30, at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion, 260 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Osseo. The usual ‘steak fry’ menu includes steak, walleye and/or shrimp served with a baked potato, coleslaw and Texas toast. The meals will be served between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Bring the family, friends and neighborhood.
Breakfast/Lunch with Santa
DEC. 1 — The annual Breakfast or Lunch with Santa event will take place Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12591 Weaver Lake Road. Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at a cost of $4 per person. A pizza lunch with Santa is served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $6 per person. The event hosts pictures with Santa, along with games, face painting, crafts, a cake walk and goodie bags for all. Benefit for CROSS
DEC. 1 — On Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Malone’s, 12635 Elm Creek Blvd. N. in Maple Grove, is serving a pancake breakfast for CROSS Food Shelf. The suggested donation of $8 will help CROSS support the families in the community. CROSS Food Shelf serves over 600 families in the community each month. CROSS serves Maple Grove, Osseo, west Champlin, Corcoran, Dayton and Rogers.
DEC. 1 — International Gift Boutique Sale will be Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the house at 9528 Rosewood Lane N. in Maple Grove. The event will recognizing world AIDS day and the abolition of slavery. Beautiful handmade products made by women who have been affected by HIV/AIDS and human trafficking. Products include bags, necklaces, table cloths, pillows and more. Bring a book for Books for Africa helping build libraries in Africa or bring a gently used bra for Free the Girls non-profit working to free women from human trafficking by helping develop small businesses. Sleigh Bell and Sparkle Parade
DEC. 1 — The Sleigh Bell and Sparkle Parade will be Saturday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 6 p.m. along Main Street in Maple Grove. The parade viewing area is from Schuler Shoes on Main Street north to the Maple Grove Government Center parking lot entrance. Culminating the procession will be the sound of Jolly Ole Saint Nick sleigh bells, as he magically brings sparkle & lights to the community holiday tree, signifying the start of a “Wonderful Holiday Season” in Maple Grove.
Toast to the Holidays
DEC. 1 — The Music Association of Minnetonka presents the ninth annual Toast to the Holidays event, featuring the Choral Reflections of Minnetonka, Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Minnetonka Community Center, 14600 Minnetonka Blvd. in Minnetonka. DEC. 4 — The Osseo School Board will have a negotiation strategies meeting Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. in the conference room of the Education Service Center, 11200 93rd Ave. in Maple Grove. DEC. 6 — On Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. a candlelight memorial will be held at the Angel of Hope statue at the Maple Grove Arboretum, 9400 Fernbrook Lane in Maple Grove. The Angel of Hope is one of many Christmas Box Angels throughout the world that are gathering places for anyone grieving the loss of a child of any age, for any reason. The public is invited to attend this short, simple ceremony. Attendees are invited to bring a white flower to leave at the base of the statue in memory of loved ones. Candles will be provided. MG Indoor Farmers Market
DEC. 6 & 20 — The Maple Grove Farmers Market has moved indoors of the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road. The Indoors Market will be open Thursdays, Dec. 6 and 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. each day. Items available for purchase may include: seasonal produce, meat products, baked goods, jams/jellies, cheese, sauces/syrups, honey and more. Lunch with Santa
DEC. 8 — The Osseo Lions Club will present Lunch with Santa Saturday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Community Center at Osseo City Hall, 415 Central Avenue. Participants can get their picture taken with Santa as well. Cost for lunch is $8 for adults and kids eat free. Lunch will be provided by Lynde’s Restaurant.
Winter Wonderland Weekend
DEC. 8 & 9 — The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove invites the public to an entire weekend of holiday must-haves including: carolers, shopping discounts, live reindeer and breakfast with the “big guy” Santa.
