The Loretto Sno-Birds will be hosting a youth (ages 12 to 15) Snowmobile Safety Training Test at Polaris Industries Headquarters building on Saturday Dec. 1.
The hours will be from 8 a.m. to noon. The student must complete the CD course and bring their printed certificate of completion to the testing day.

Pre-registration is necessary to attend this class by Nov. 24. You can do so by mailing a non-refundable check in the amount of $5, the student’s full name, address, and a daytime phone number to: Loretto Sno-Birds PO Box 272 Loretto, MN, 55357. Questions can be answered by calling the Loretto Sno-Birds Snowmobile Safety Hotline at 763-847-8416, and following the instructions on the recorded message.
If your children, or yourself, are between the ages of 12 and 36, you are required to have a Minnesota DNR Snowmobile Safety Certificate to operate a snowmobile in the state of Minnesota. The law reads: “Residents born after December 31, 1976 must have a snowmobile safety certificate in their possession, or snowmobile safety certificate indicator on their driver’s license or on their Minnesota ID card, to operate a snowmobile in Minnesota.”
Students 16 or older do not need a test day, but do need to complete the CD course certificate online at the DNR.
