Editor’s Note: The following contains some but not nearly all of the incidents reported by Rogers Police from Monday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 16.
Monday, Nov. 12
Two car rear-end crash at Brockton Avenue and County Rd. 159. One driver transported to Maple Grove Hospital with neck and back pain.
Jacob Alan Fabian, 25, was arrested for shoplifting at Cabela’s. Suspect admitted to theft.
Varneshia Shayon Hayes, 19, was cited for driving after suspension at 21400 block of South Diamond Lake Road.
Dispatch advised of a missing persons report. The victim has not been heard from by mother or ex-boyfriend since 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12. It is not like her to not contact anyone to tell them where she’s at. Nobody is able to get a hold of her. The reporting party was told to notify the officer if she showed up for work Nov. 13.
Tuesday, Nov. 13
Officers were dispatched for one with trouble breathing. Officers arrived on scene and provided high flow oxygen to the subject and gathered medical information. Rogers Fire and North Memorial arrived on scene. Subject was transported to North Memorial Robbinsdale.
Theft from auto that was unlocked overnight at 13100 block of Gray Fox Trail. Known items taken at this point include CD’s, sunglasses, and a screwdriver. Totaling $165 in losses at this point.
Second theft from auto discovered by Officer after taking theft from auto up the road on Gray Fox Trail. Items taken were a toolbox filled with tools totaling around $500 in losses. No suspects are known at this time, but juveniles are suspected. Extra patrol request put out and report generated on this event.
Anonymous caller indicated he found someone online in a chat room soliciting prostitution. Caller advised prostitution is occurring at Super 8 in Rogers. Left a number to suspect. Number was called and party answered with suspicious statements about her activities in Rogers. Party hung up after being advised that she could be arrested if she returned and after asking for her name. Reverse phone search for suspect lists to Zimmerman. Super 8 management notified.
Gas-drive-off of $35 at 8:33 a.m., after suspect set pump on the ground. Suspect vehicle had no rear plate. Lone black male driver in early 20′s, short height around 5-7, with scruffy facial hair. Reporting party ran after car and suspect vehicle went through two red lights, nearly causing crash as it went northbound on Hwy. 101. No other identifying information.
John Martin Vandenheuvel, 49, was arrested for domestic assault at 21500 block of Maple Ave.
Wednesday, Nov. 14
Reporting party noticed a male removing items from a dumpster behind closed business at 12500 block of Fletcher Lane. Party stated he also witness the male looking inside vehicles parked behind business. Located suspect pulling into his residence. Spoke with suspect who informed me he spoke with someone who gave him permission. Attempted to make contact with keyholder/owner of business but unable to make contact. Suspect had a bunch of old light fixtures, used fans and miscellaneous electrical items.
Thursday, Nov. 15
James Michael Runyan, 32, was cited for no proof of insurance at Main Street and South Diamond Lake Road.
Derek Laroy Murray, 31, was cited for littering from vehicle at 134th Avenue and Rogers Drive.
Theft of 1-year old female yellow lab with orange collar at 26000 block of Territorial Raod. Suspect: Female in a Pontiac Grand Prix or Oldsmobile Alero (unknown color) at approximately 5:45 a.m. Vehicle went eastbound on Territorial after picking up dog. Dog’s name “RENY” with a St. Michael Vet Clinic tag. Dog was returned at 8:20 a.m. Owners advised dog was on Territorial Rd eating dead animal and could have been hit. Vet tag had no name or owner so she waited until Vet Clinic opened to return dog.
