Toys for CROSS
NOW THROUGH DECEMBER — Hardee’s, at 14086 Northdale Blvd. in Rogers, will give everyone who donates a new toy for CROSS a free beverage. CROSS Food Shelf will receive these toys and give them to children in the community during the month of December in conjunction with the Toys for Tots/Teens program. Also, anyone interested can donate food or toys to CROSS the warehouse is at 12915 Weinand Circle in Rogers. CROSS serves Maple Grove, Osseo, Rogers, west Champlin, Dayton and Corcoran.
NOV. 22 — The Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Riders will be serving a Turkey Dinner with all the fixings Thursday, Nov. 22. There will be homemade pie for dessert. Dinner will be served from noon to 5 p.m. The dinner will be at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion, 260 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Osseo. The cost is $8 per person. ‘Miracle on Christmas Lake II’
NOV. 23 TO DEC. 30 — Yellow Tree Theatre, 320 Fifth Ave. S.E. in Osseo, will bring back the sequel to its original smash-hit holiday comedy “Miracle on Christmas Lake II” by Jessica Lind. Grief support group
NOV. 30 — Chapel Chummies, a grief support group organized by Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapels, has scheduled its November outing to Cirque Dreams, Winter Wonderland from Cirque Productions at the Mystic Lake Casino Friday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. Chapel Chummies is a group of widows and widowers that goes on day trips, attends shows and gets together for social gatherings. There are no fees to join Chapel Chummies and all trips are optional. Breakfast/Lunch with Santa
DEC. 1 — The annual Breakfast or Lunch with Santa event will take place Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12591 Weaver Lake Road. Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at a cost of $4 per person. A pizza lunch with Santa is served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $6 per person. The event hosts pictures with Santa, along with games, face painting, crafts, a cake walk and goodie bags for all. DEC. 1 — International Gift Boutique Sale will be Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the house at 9528 Rosewood Lane N. in Maple Grove. The event will recognizing world AIDS day and the abolition of slavery. Beautiful handmade products made by women who have been affected by HIV/AIDS and human trafficking. Products include bags, necklaces, table cloths, pillows and more. Bring a book for Books for Africa helping build libraries in Africa or bring a gently used bra for Free the Girls non-profit working to free women from human trafficking by helping develop small businesses. Sleigh Bell and Sparkle Parade
DEC. 1 — The Sleigh Bell and Sparkle Parade will be Saturday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 6 p.m. along Main Street in Maple Grove. The parade viewing area is from Schuler Shoes on Main Street north to the Maple Grove Government Center parking lot entrance. Culminating the procession will be the sound of Jolly Ole Saint Nick sleigh bells, as he magically brings sparkle & lights to the community holiday tree, signifying the start of a “Wonderful Holiday Season” in Maple Grove.
Toast to the Holidays
DEC. 1 — The Music Association of Minnetonka presents the ninth annual Toast to the Holidays event, featuring the Choral Reflections of Minnetonka, Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Minnetonka Community Center, 14600 Minnetonka Blvd. in Minnetonka. Holiday grief class
DEC. 4 — “Coping with Grief During the Holidays” class will take place Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Maple Grove Covenant Church, 9350 Upland Lane N. in Maple Grove. This class will provide a “tool-box” in dealing with and managing grief during the holidays. Led by Rev. Greg Bodin, Senior Chaplain Director, North Memorial Medical Center & Rev. Terri Gunderson.
