Osseo footballers honored

The Osseo High football team is rewarded for its banner 2012 season with eight players being named to the all-conference team.

Honored are: senior linebackers Troy Kray and Carter Burquist, senior defensive linemen Lamar Wallace and Rakeem Felder, senior offensive linemen Tyler Sims and Joel Jacobs, senior tightend Harrison Lucas and senior running back Bridge Tusler.

Tusler was named the conference’s Most Valuable Offensive Player and Most Valuable Special Team player. He also received the Metro Player of the Year Award.

The Orioles returned a handful of experienced players and no one expected them to contend. But they overachieved and finished 8-2 overall.

“We had a fresh start this year and everybody stepped up,” Kray said. “Everybody tried their best, worked hard this off season and played great. I could not ask for a better group of guys to end the season with.”
